Big Brother 7 (U.S.)

Big Brother 7: All-Stars is the seventh season of the United States reality television series Big Brother. It was the first season of the program to feature returning HouseGuests, and the only season entirely composed of returning HouseGuests. The series premiered on July 6, 2006 and lasted until September 12, 2006. It is the second shortest season of the series, lasting only 72 days. Julie Chen returned to host the series as she had since its inception.

Initially only slated to feature 12 HouseGuests, the number was later increased to 14 due to the large number of votes sent in by the viewers. The viewers were only set to choose six of the players, with production choosing the other six. Due to the large number of votes, however, viewers chose eight of the HouseGuests who entered and production still chose six. It is the second season to feature a majority gender, with eight men and six women. Big Brother 6 featured eight women and six men. The format of the show remained largely unchanged, though a few exceptions were included. The HouseGuests on the food diet now had to eat Big Brother Slop as opposed to peanut butter and jelly. A new power, known was the Coup d'Etat, was also brought into play, but ultimately was not used.

Aside from the returning HouseGuests who competed for the grand prize, numerous other HouseGuests from past seasons returned as well. Big Brother 2 Runner-Up Nicole returned twice, once for a food competition and once for a Power of Veto competition. Amy from Big Brother 3 returned to do a segment about her former best friend Marcellas, who was a contestant this year. Big Brother 4 winner Jun Song returned as part of a food competition, and Jack Owens returned for a Power of Veto competition. Big Brother 5 HouseGuest Marvin Latimer returned as a judge for a food competition, while Holly King returned as part of the Seance HoH competition. Scott Long from that season also participated in a Power of Veto competition. Big Brother 6 HouseGuests April Lewis and Eric Littmann also returned to take part in a Power of Veto and Head of Household competition, respectively.

Famous quotes containing the words big and/or brother:

Sure is big country. The only thing bigger is the sky. Looks like God made it and forgot to put people in it.
    Dudley Nichols (1895–1960)

It’s perversion. Don’t you see what it is? It’s not natural. To go to great expense for something you want, that’s natural. To reach out to take it, that’s human, that’s natural. But to get your pleasure from not taking, from cheating yourself deliberately like my brother did today, from not getting, from not taking. Don’t you see what a black thing that is for a man to do? How it is to hate yourself?
    Abraham Polonsky (b. 1910)
