The world seems full of straight, large-circulation, slick periodicals which wouldnt think of reviewing my book and bookstores which will never order it.”
—Jan Clausen (b. 1943)
“Think of the life of the working woman as the decathlon. If you even finish its a miracle.”
—Barbara Dale (b. 1940)
“Unto a life which I call natural I would gladly follow even a will-o-the-wisp through bogs and sloughs unimaginable, but no moon nor firefly has shown me the causeway to it.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
