Bergen Marine - Engine Range

Engine Range

The Bergen marine diesel ranges are denoted by the letters C, B and K and are broadly divided by the power output as follows:

  • Bergen K,
  • Bergen C and;
  • Bergen B32:40

for powers from 1200 – 8,000kW,

  • Bergen KG 4.2 and;
  • Bergen B35:40

for powers of 1190kW – 8750kW.

These engines can all burn Marine Diesel Oil (MDO) and Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO).

They achieve specific fuel consumptions of between 183 and 196g/kWh. Specific lubricant oil consumptions are of the order of 0.8g/kWh.

Two of the Bergen marine engine variants may be fuelled by natural gas.

Famous quotes containing the words engine and/or range:

    The machine unmakes the man. Now that the machine is perfect, the engineer is nobody. Every new step in improving the engine restricts one more act of the engineer,—unteaches him.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

    Compared to football, baseball is almost an Oriental game, minimizing individual stardom, requiring a wide range of aggressive and defensive skills, and filled with long periods of inaction and irresolution. It has no time limitations. Football, on the other hand, has immediate goals, resolution on every single play, and a lot of violence—itself a highlight. It has clearly distinguishable hierarchies: heroes and drones.
