Dispute Over The Reconstitution in The Old City

Rabbi Ovadia Hedaya found himself in dispute with Rabbi Yehuda Getz over the rejection by the latter of Shemen Sasson (the primary work of Rabbi Sasson Farsiyado). The dispute led to the ultimate rejection of Rabbi Getz as a student of Rabbi Ovadia Hedaya. Rabbi Shalom Mordekhai Haim Hedaya also took issue with the newly founded Yeshiva in the Old City over the name, Yeshivat HaMekubalim Beit El.

Famous quotes containing the words dispute and/or city:

Your next-door neighbour ... is not a man; he is an environment. He is the barking of a dog; he is the noise of a pianola; he is a dispute about a party wall; he is drains that are worse than yours, or roses that are better than yours.
    Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874–1936)

Without infringing on the liberty we so much boast, might we not ask our professional Mayor to call upon the smokers, have them register their names in each ward, and then appoint certain thoroughfares in the city for their use, that those who feel no need of this envelopment of curling vapor, to insure protection may be relieved from a nuisance as disgusting to the olfactories as it is prejudicial to the lungs.
    Harriot K. Hunt (1805–1875)
