Banknotes of the Canadian dollar are the banknotes or bills (in everyday usage) of Canada, denominated in Canadian dollars (CAD, C$, or $ locally). Currently, they are issued in $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 denominations. All current notes are issued by the Bank of Canada, which released its first series of notes in 1935. Beginning in 2011, polymer banknotes were introduced and have already been partially phased in, the 100's, 50's and 20's have already been issued. The 10's and 5's will be issued before the end of 2013. Banknotes issued in Canada can be viewed at the Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada in Ottawa.

Famous quotes containing the words canadian and/or dollar:
“Were definite in Nova Scotiabout things like ships ... and fish, the best in the world.”
—John Rhodes Sturdy, Canadian screenwriter. Richard Rossen. Joyce Cartwright (Ella Raines)
“How can a man be satisfied to entertain an opinion merely, and enjoy it? Is there any enjoyment in it, if his opinion is that he is aggrieved? If you are cheated out of a single dollar by your neighbor, you do not rest satisfied with knowing that you are cheated, or with saying that you are cheated, or even with petitioning him to pay you your due; but you take effectual steps at once to obtain the full amount, and see that you are never cheated again.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
