Famous quotes containing the words meadows, public and/or school:

Say, is there Beauty yet to find?
    And Certainty? And Quiet kind?
Deep meadows yet, for to forget
The lies, and truths, and pain? . . . oh!
Stands the Church clock at ten to three?
And is there honey still for tea?
    Rupert Brooke (1887–1915)

If we should swap a good library for a second-rate stump speech and not ask for boot, it would be thoroughly in tune with our hearts. For deep within each of us lies politics. It is our football, baseball, and tennis rolled into one. —Federal Writers’ Project Of The Wor, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

For millions of men and women, the church has been the hospital for the soul, the school for the mind and the safe depository for moral ideas.
    Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)
