Army of Me - Composition

Composition

The song is moderately low track, influenced by industrial rock and techno. The song partially samples the drum line of "When the Levee Breaks" by the Led Zeppelin. The drum track starts right after the beginning of the song, which starts with a sound of an explosion, and then it can be heard throughout the song.

The song is dominated by a heavy bass line and features synthesizer. Mim Udovitch has described the song as "grinding techno fusion".

Famous quotes containing the word composition:

The naive notion that a mother naturally acquires the complex skills of childrearing simply because she has given birth now seems as absurd to me as enrolling in a nine-month class in composition and imagining that at the end of the course you are now prepared to begin writing War and Peace.
    Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)

Boswell, when he speaks of his Life of Johnson, calls it my magnum opus, but it may more properly be called his opera, for it is truly a composition founded on a true story, in which there is a hero with a number of subordinate characters, and an alternate succession of recitative and airs of various tone and effect, all however in delightful animation.
    James Boswell (1740–1795)

It is my PRIDE, my damn’d, native, unconquerable Pride, that plunges me into Distraction. You must know that 19-20th of my Composition is Pride. I must either live a Slave, a Servant; to have no Will of my own, no Sentiments of my own which I may freely declare as such;Mor DIE—perplexing alternative!
    Thomas Chatterton (1752–1770)
