History

Para 42. Individual members of the profession of arms are distinguished from those of other professions by the "unlimited liability" they assume in their oaths of office. The obligations they undertake, risking life and well-being for the greater good, are in many ways extraordinary.

    To see come into being.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

Racism is an ism to which everyone in the world today is exposed; for or against, we must take sides. And the history of the future will differ according to the decision which we make.
    Ruth Benedict (1887–1948)

The history of a soldier’s wound beguiles the pain of it.
    Laurence Sterne (1713–1768)
