Famous quotes containing the words submission, april and/or day:
“The doctrine of blind obedience and unqualified submission to any human power, whether civil or ecclesiastical, is the doctrine of despotism, and ought to have no place ‘mong Republicans and Christians.”
—Angelina Grimké (1805–1879)
“In April 1917 the illusion of isolation was destroyed, America came to the end of innocence, and of the exuberant freedom of bachelor independence. —Barbara Tuchman (1912–1989)
“The first day on the new world had begun.”
—Sydney Boehm (1908–1990)
