Governance
AFSA's Governing Board is elected by the membership every two years. The current composition of the board includes 27 members: A President, a Treasurer, a Secretary, five constituency vice presidents, and 19 constituency representatives. The current board's term expires in July 2013.
The association's President is Susan R. Johnson, a Senior Foreign Service Officer who has previously served in Iraq, Pakistan, Cuba, Russia, Bosnia, Romania and Mauritius. She is in her second term as President.
