Famous quotes containing the words home, ownership and/or rates:

At every party there are two kinds of people—those who want to go home and those who don’t. The trouble is, they are usually married to each other.
    Ann Landers (b. 1918)

They had their fortunes to make, everything to gain and nothing to lose. They were schooled in and anxious for debates; forcible in argument; reckless and brilliant. For the lawyer, oratory was the escalator that could lift a political candidate to higher ground.
—Federal Writers’ Project Of The Wor, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

So long as the rates of progress held good, these bombs would double in force and number every ten years.
    Henry Brooks Adams (1838–1918)
