Theatre Producing Activity
ATG produces shows on its own behalf, with external producers and with producers with which it has contractual arrangements. Sonia Friedman Productions, formed in 2002, and now a leading mainstream production company, is a wholly owned subsidiary of ATG. First Family Entertainment, formed in 2005, a leading pantomime production company, is now solely owned by ATG.
In 2011 Theatre Royal Brighton Productions was launched by ATG, its artistic director is Christopher Luscombe. The company's first production was Dandy Dick starring Patricia Hodge and Nicholas Le Prevost, followed by Joe Penhall's play Blue/Orange starring Robert Bathurst. In 2011 ATG also announced a partnership with director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell to form Jerry Mitchell Productions, which will develop, create and produce new productions for ATG theatres and other venues worldwide.
In 2012 ATG announced further production deals, with producer Tali Pelman; and with director Jamie Lloyd (to form Jamie Lloyd Productions), which would focus on “new writing, modern classics and musicals”.

Famous quotes containing the words theatre, producing and/or activity:

“Most works of art are effectively treated as commodities and most artists, even when they justly claim quite other intentions, are effectively treated as a category of independent craftsmen or skilled workers producing a certain kind of marginal commodity.”
—Raymond Williams (19211988)
“Labor is work that leaves no trace behind it when it is finished, or if it does, as in the case of the tilled field, this product of human activity requires still more labor, incessant, tireless labor, to maintain its identity as a work of man.”
—Mary McCarthy (19121989)
