Design and Planning
The school follows a "private-public partnership", one of only a few in the state. The secondary college will have modern design and architecture in mind, including smaller learning centres within the school. The school's design model is very similar to that of the regeneration of Dandenong High School model. Alkira Secondary College will have an expected enrolment of at least 1150 students when the school is fully grown.

Famous quotes containing the words design and/or planning:
“Nowadays the host does not admit you to his hearth, but has got the mason to build one for yourself somewhere in his alley, and hospitality is the art of keeping you at the greatest distance. There is as much secrecy about the cooking as if he had a design to poison you.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Most literature on the culture of adolescence focuses on peer pressure as a negative force. Warnings about the wrong crowd read like tornado alerts in parent manuals. . . . It is a relative term that means different things in different places. In Fort Wayne, for example, the wrong crowd meant hanging out with liberal Democrats. In Connecticut, it meant kids who werent planning to get a Ph.D. from Yale.”
—Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)
