Academy of Information Technology

The Academy of Information Technology is one of the three major programs sponsored by the National Academy Foundation which provides students with knowledge of technology and its ever expanding universe. It was formed in 2000, with the first graduating class being the class of 2004, and was the National Academy Foundation's third academy. The Academy of Information Technology gives students the chance to earn college credits dealing with technology while still in secondary education.

Famous quotes containing the words information technology, academy, information and/or technology:

As information technology restructures the work situation, it abstracts thought from action.
    Shoshana Zuboff (b. 1951)

I realized early on that the academy and the literary world alike—and I don’t think there really is a distinction between the two—are always dominated by fools, knaves, charlatans and bureaucrats. And that being the case, any human being, male or female, of whatever status, who has a voice of her or his own, is not going to be liked.
    Harold Bloom (b. 1930)

We hear a great deal of lamentation these days about writers having all taken themselves to the colleges and universities where they live decorously instead of going out and getting firsthand information about life. The fact is that anybody who has survived his childhood has enough information about life to last him the rest of his days.
    Flannery O’Connor (1925–1964)

Our technology forces us to live mythically, but we continue to think fragmentarily, and on single, separate planes.
    Marshall McLuhan (1911–1980)
