The soundtrack borrows elements from Elliot Goldenthal's 1999 score for Titus, giving rise to some controversy in the film composer community. "Remember Us," from 300, is identical in parts to the "Finale" from Titus, and "Returns A King" (300) is similar to "Victorius Titus." On August 3, 2007, Warner Bros. Pictures acknowledged in an official statement, "a number of the music cues for the score of "300" were, without our knowledge or participation, derived from music composed by Academy Award winning composer Elliot Goldenthal for the motion picture "Titus." Warner Bros. Pictures has great respect for Elliot, our longtime collaborator, and is pleased to have amicably resolved this matter."

Famous quotes containing the word issues:

How to attain sufficient clarity of thought to meet the terrifying issues now facing us, before it is too late, is ... important. Of one thing I feel reasonably sure: we can’t stop to discuss whether the table has or hasn’t legs when the house is burning down over our heads. Nor do the classics per se seem to furnish the kind of education which fits people to cope with a fast-changing civilization.
    Mary Barnett Gilson (1877–?)
