Issues That Concern Zirakpur
The town is developing and there are plenty of issues that need to be addressed.
- 2011 - The traffic jams under the Chandigarh-Ambala flyover There is only a single lane under the flyover, that needs to be widened. The worst affected stretch is the one between Patiala chowk and Kalka chowk where the footpaths are blocked with shopkeepers displaying their mercantile. The vehicles of customers and shopkeepers also remain parked on this stretch of road under the very eyes of Traffic Police. The situation is further wosened by stopping of busses there which should not be allowed at all.
The Octroi post near the Hotel Ashoka is another reason for the chaos. Shift it elsewhere.
