You're The One For Me

"You're the One For Me" (Hindi: Haan Main Tumhara Hoon) is a song written by Australian cricketer Brett Lee during the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy in India. It was released as a duet featuring Lee and Bollywood star Asha Bhosle.

The lyrics were reportedly written in 30 minutes by Lee between practice sessions at the Champions Trophy.

The song tells the story of a westerner, played in the video clip by Brett Lee, trying to woo a young Indian woman. Asha Bhosle plays the role of an advisor, teaching him Hindi in order to impress the girl. Lee, who plays in a band known as "Six & Out" with some New South Wales teammates, plays guitar and sings in English as well as in Hindi.

Like many Indian songs, "You're the One for Me" has a distinct Bollywood flavour, visible both in the musical style of the piece and the arrangement of the video clip.

Famous quotes containing the words for me, the, one and/or for:

In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for. As for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)

I sometimes feel a great ennui, profound emptiness, doubts which sneer in my face in the midst of the most spontaneous satisfactions. Well, I would not exchange all that for anything, because it seems to me, in my conscience, that I am doing my duty, that I am obeying a superior fatality, that I am following the Good and that I am in the Right.
    Gustave Flaubert (1821–1880)

The things we now esteem fixed shall, one by one, detach themselves, like ripe fruit, from our experience, and fall. The wind shall blow them none knows whither.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Any day, any minute we bless God for our being or for anything, for food, for sunlight, we do and are what we were meant for, made for—things that give and mean to give God glory.
    Gerard Manley Hopkins (1844–1889)
