Young People's Religious Union

The Young People's Religious Union, or YPRU, was a Unitarian Youth organization founded in 1896. It was superseded by Liberal Religious Youth in 1953, as Unitarianism and Universalism came ever-closer together, but before the official merge in 1961.

Famous quotes containing the words young, people, religious and/or union:

Wanton as youthful goats, wild as young bulls.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

Every decision is liberating, even if it leads to disaster. Otherwise, why do so many people walk upright and with open eyes into their misfortune?
    Elias Canetti (b. 1905)

If the religious spirit be ever mentioned in any historical narration, we are sure to meet afterwards with a detail of the miseries which attend it. And no period of time can be happier or more prosperous, than those in which it is never regarded or heard of.
    David Hume (1711–1776)

In externals we advance with lightening express speed, in modes of thought and sympathy we lumber on in stage-coach fashion.
Frances E. Willard 1839–1898, U.S. president of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union 1879-1891, author, activist. The Woman’s Magazine, pp. 137-40 (January 1887)
