Wythenshawe is policed by the South Manchester Division of Greater Manchester Police. The Wythenshawe Neighbourhood Policing Team, which covers Sharston, Benchill and Woodhouse Park is situated on Poundswick Lane.
Wythenshawe's fire and rescue services are the responsibility of the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and are based at a fire station on Brownley Road.
