Wyndham College - School Life

School Life

The school life of Wyndham College is different to that of a normal High School in that it offers an adult style learning environment. Students may refer to their teachers by their first name. Students are required to carry an identification card which is used to swipe in and out of school if arriving late or leaving early for study periods. During middle of the day study periods, students are allowed to work in the library or remain within the school grounds. Full school uniform is enforced and parking is available for students driving to and from school. A day at Wyndham college commences at 8am on most days, 9am on Tuesdays, and concludes at 2:40pm Monday and Wednesday finishing at 3pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. School finishes at 12:20pm on Fridays.

Famous quotes containing the words school life, school and/or life:

After school days are over, the girls ... find no natural connection between their school life and the new one on which they enter, and are apt to be aimless, if not listless, needing external stimulus, and finding it only prepared for them, it may be, in some form of social excitement. ...girls after leaving school need intellectual interests, well regulated and not encroaching on home duties.
    Ellen Henrietta Swallow Richards (1842–1911)

A sure proportion of rogue and dunce finds its way into every school and requires a cruel share of time, and the gentle teacher, who wished to be a Providence to youth, is grown a martinet, sore with suspicions; knows as much vice as the judge of a police court, and his love of learning is lost in the routine of grammars and books of elements.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Never before since Jamestown and Plymouth Rock has our American civilization been in such danger as now.... [The Nazis] have made it clear that not only do they intend to dominate all life and thought in their own country, but also to enslave the whole of Europe, and then to use the resources of Europe to dominate the rest of the world.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
