^ 1. With the introduction of a second world heavyweight title in September 2002, every WrestleMania since has featured at least two main-events on the card.

^ 2. Promotional materials highlight an additional main-event that does not involve a heavyweight title.

^ 3. Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna was the scheduled main event, but an impromptu match between Yokozuna and Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship occurred after it.

^ 4. As Lex Luger and Bret Hart were co-winners of the Royal Rumble, the WWF Championship was defended twice, Luger faced Yokozuna for the title in the first main event with the winner (Yokozuna) facing Hart in the second main event. To even the fatigue, Hart had to wrestle in an earlier match against his brother Owen Hart.

Famous quotes containing the words main and/or events:

What is done for science must also be done for art: accepting undesirable side effects for the sake of the main goal, and moreover diminishing their importance by making this main goal more magnificent. For one should reform forward, not backward: social illnesses, revolutions, are evolutions inhibited by a conserving stupidity.
    Robert Musil (1880–1942)

When the world was half a thousand years younger all events had much sharper outlines than now. The distance between sadness and joy, between good and bad fortune, seemed to be much greater than for us; every experience had that degree of directness and absoluteness which joy and sadness still have in the mind of a child
    Johan Huizinga (1872–1945)
