In 2006, the total population of the civil parish was estimated as 1,100. In the 2001 census, the recorded population was 1060. The population has doubled since the beginning of the 20th century; the historical population figures were 404 in 1801, 490 in 1851, 491 in 1901 and 708 in 1951.
