Women & Songs

Women & Songs is a series of annual Canadian compilation album releases that only contain tracks by female artists. The first album, simply titled Women & Songs, was released December 9, 1997 and the series has since been both a major seller and a chart-topper in the Canadian music scene.

Famous quotes containing the words women and/or songs:

    Men should be saying “I want to become a woman.” The world would be a far better place if more men wanted to become women, than women wanted to become men.
    Albert Halsey (b. 1923)

    On a cloud I saw a child,
    And he laughing said to me,

    “Pipe a song about a Lamb”;
    So I piped with merry chear.
    “Piper pipe that song again”—
    So I piped, he wept to hear.

    “Drop thy pipe thy happy pipe
    Sing thy songs of happy chear”;
    So I sung the same again
    While he wept with joy to hear.
    William Blake (1757–1827)
