Frisia, locally known as Fryslân or Friesland, is a coastal region on the southern coasts of the North Sea that extends from the northeastern Netherlands across northwestern Germany to the border of Denmark. Friesland is also a northern province of the Netherlands with its own distinct language and people. There is a portal for the central part of the region, East Frisia, here. The northernmost part, North Frisia, comprises the Nordfriesland district of Germany and Heligoland island in the German Bight. West Friesland is a province and historic region in the Netherlands.

Famous quotes containing the word project:
“If we should swap a good library for a second-rate stump speech and not ask for boot, it would be thoroughly in tune with our hearts. For deep within each of us lies politics. It is our football, baseball, and tennis rolled into one. We enjoy it; we will hitch up and drive for miles in order to hear and applaud the vitriolic phrases of a candidate we have already reckoned well vote against.”
—Federal Writers Project Of The Wor, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
