Curriculum and Accreditation
The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of students transferring to or from U.S., British, or international schools abroad. The elementary school was authorized to teach the IB Primary Years programme in 2005 following the authorization for the IB Diploma in 2002. In the Middle Years the school currently offers the IGCSE however this is being phased out in favour of the IB Middle Years program. U.S. textbooks are used as are texts from Britain and South Africa. Standardized tests in reading are used throughout elementary and an ESL and a special needs program are offered. The School was accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Council of International Schools in 2003 (Kdg.-grade 7). Grade 8-12 will proceed for accreditation in November 2008.

Famous quotes containing the word curriculum:
“If we focus exclusively on teaching our children to read, write, spell, and count in their first years of life, we turn our homes into extensions of school and turn bringing up a child into an exercise in curriculum development. We should be parents first and teachers of academic skills second.”
—Neil Kurshan (20th century)
