History
The railway line through West Wickham was built by the West Wickham & Hayes Railway as part of a branch line between Elmers End and Hayes. The line was sold to the South Eastern Railway on the opening day, 29 May 1882.
The line was a branch of the Mid-Kent line built by the South Eastern Railway which had opened on 1 January 1857.
