Watergardens Town Centre - Naming Rights To Watergardens Railway Station

Naming Rights To Watergardens Railway Station

When the former St Albans line was extended out to include Keilor Plains and Sydenham, the Watergardens Town Centre consortium (QIC) bought the naming rights to the railway station, naming it Watergardens Station in 2002. The former St Albans line is now referred to alternately as either the Sydenham line or the Watergardens line or occasionally as Sydenham/Watergardens. The station and railway serves as the separation between the suburbs of Sydenham and Taylors Lakes, with the shopping centre entirely located in Taylors Lakes.

Famous quotes containing the words naming, rights, railway and/or station:

    Husband,
who am I to reject the naming of foods
    in a time of famine?
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

It seemed like this was one big Prozac nation, one big mess of malaise. Perhaps the next time half a million people gather for a protest march on the White House green it will not be for abortion rights or gay liberation, but because we’re all so bummed out.
Elizabeth Wurtzel, U.S. author. Prozac Nation: Young and Depressed in America, p. 298, Houghton Mifflin (1994)

Her personality had an architectonic quality; I think of her when I see some of the great London railway termini, especially St. Pancras, with its soot and turrets, and she overshadowed her own daughters, whom she did not understand—my mother, who liked things to be nice; my dotty aunt. But my mother had not the strength to put even some physical distance between them, let alone keep the old monster at emotional arm’s length.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)

It was evident that the same foolish respect was not here claimed for mere wealth and station that is in many parts of New England; yet some of them were the “first people,” as they are called, of the various towns through which we passed.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
