Water Supply and Sanitation in Peru - Economic Efficiency

Economic Efficiency

It is estimated that 45% of the water produced is not counted due to physical and commercial losses, which is higher than the other 40% average of Water and sanitation in Latin America. This coefficient has not change a lot during the last 12 years. The highest levels are detected in the provinces of Marañón and Barranca (greater than 70%). Some companies had water levels not accounted for at less than 10%, however, these values do not seem viable given the low level of household metering (50%).

Famous quotes containing the words economic and/or efficiency:

There’s something about Marxism that brings out warts—the only kind of growth this economic system encourages.
    —P.J. (Patrick Jake)

Nothing comes to pass in nature, which can be set down to a flaw therein; for nature is always the same and everywhere one and the same in her efficiency and power of action; that is, nature’s laws and ordinances whereby all things come to pass and change from one form to another, are everywhere and always; so that there should be one and the same method of understanding the nature of all things whatsoever, namely, through nature’s universal laws and rules.
    Baruch (Benedict)
