Wallington High School For Girls - The Houses

The Houses

Wallington has six different forms in each year group. Each form is a member of one of the six different houses, each named after an influential woman. Each house has two Year 11 House Captains, who are responsible for organising the annual fete and events and activities for their house. However, there will be the addition of an extra house as of the academic year of 2012/2013 and this new house will be called Curie with the house colour of Cerise. This is due to the school needing to expand in order to accommodate the growing number of primary school students leaving primary education without a place in a secondary school.

Famous quotes containing the word houses:

    Hast ever ben in Omaha
    Where rolls the dark Missouri down,
    Where four strong horses scarce can draw
    An empty wagon through the town?
    Where sand is blown from every mound
    To fill your eyes and ears and throat;
    Where all the steamboats are aground,
    And all the houses are afloat?...
    If not, take heed to what I say,
    You’ll find it just as I have found it;
    And if it lies upon your way
    For God’s sake, reader, go around it!
    —For the State of Nebraska, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

    Pray be always in motion. Early in the morning go and see things; and the rest of the day go and see people. If you stay but a week at a place, and that an insignificant one, see, however, all that is to be seen there; know as many people, and get into as many houses as ever you can.
    Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)
