Vistaprint - History

History

Vistaprint was founded in Paris, France in 1995 by current President and CEO Robert Keane, immediately following his graduation from INSEAD Business School.

Moving to Massachusetts in 2000, in order to survive the burst of the dot-com bubble, the company’s staff was cut from 70 to 20, but in 2001 the company started turning a profit. Originally starting with business cards as its only product, the company expanded to postcards, letterhead, stamps, and return address labels.

In September 2005, the company went public with an initial public offering. Now publicly traded on the NASDAQ, Vistaprint had growth rates in the 50-60% range in 2007, according to its earnings statements. The company has not made any acquisitions since its IPO. Vistaprint opened a European office in Barcelona, Spain in September 2006.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

It is true that this man was nothing but an elemental force in motion, directed and rendered more effective by extreme cunning and by a relentless tactical clairvoyance .... Hitler was history in its purest form.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

To a surprising extent the war-lords in shining armour, the apostles of the martial virtues, tend not to die fighting when the time comes. History is full of ignominious getaways by the great and famous.
    George Orwell (1903–1950)

While the Republic has already acquired a history world-wide, America is still unsettled and unexplored. Like the English in New Holland, we live only on the shores of a continent even yet, and hardly know where the rivers come from which float our navy.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
