Famous quotes containing the words vision, street and/or wear:

For what we call illusions are often, in truth, a wider vision of past and present realities—a willing movement of a man’s soul with the larger sweep of the world’s forces—a movement towards a more assured end than the chances of a single life.
George Eliot [Mary Ann (or Marian)

If you don’t have a policeman to stop traffic and let you walk across the street like you are somebody, how are you going to know you are somebody?
    John C. White (b. 1924)

I would rather have a young fellow too much than too little dressed: the excess on that side will wear off, with a little age and reflection; but if he is negligent at twenty, he will be a sloven at forty, and stink at fifty years old.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)
