Signing in From "New Section" On A Village Pump and Returning Afterwards Goes To "Edit" On The Villa

I can't really put it any better than the title. This bug occurs for me on WP:Village pump (technical) and WP:Village pump (miscellaneous) under both Firefox and Chromium on Arch Linux. --Gizmoguy (talk) 23:43, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Do you mean it goes to a full page edit and not to add a new section? It does the latter for me in Firefox with the url http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Village_pump_%28technical%29&action=edit&section=new. My steps: Log out, click "New section", click "Log in" (without showing preview or changes), sign in, click "Return to Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)". Are you doing the same steps or talking about something else? If you mean that something you had written in the edit box is not restored after you click "Return to Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)" then it's not supposed to be restored. Try your browser back button for that, or use another tab to log in. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:32, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

Famous quotes containing the words section, village, pump, returning and/or edit:

The demonstrations are always early in the morning, at six o’clock. It’s wonderful, because I’m not doing anything at six anyway, so why not demonstrate?... When you’ve written to your president, to your congressman, to your senator and nothing, nothing has come of it, you take to the streets.
Erica Bouza, U.S. jewelry designer and social activist. As quoted in The Great Divide, book 2, section 7, by Studs Terkel (1988)

Our village life would stagnate if it were not for the unexplored forests and meadows which surround it.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

God primes the pump of obligation.
    A.P. Martinich (b. 1946)

    Earth in beauty dressed
    Awaits returning spring.
    All true love must die,
    Alter at the best
    Into some lesser thing.
    Prove that I lie.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

To a philosopher all news, as it is called, is gossip, and they who edit it and read it are old women over their tea.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
