Victor Adeyanju - High School Career

High School Career

Born in Chicago, Adeyanju moved to the United States at age seven after living a few years in Nigeria. He was a defensive end at Curie High School in Chicago. The team compiled a 10-2 record that year, as Adeyanju recorded 45 tackles with ten sacks and seventeen stops behind the line of scrimmage. He saw action as a wide receiver and returned five kickoffs for 62 yards. Today his brother James (currently a Senior at Curie Highschool) wants to play in the NFL as well. Last week against Lane Tech Highschool he recorded 7 tackles and a sack. James is also scheduled to play in the NUC All World Gridiron Classic December 31 at the Citadel in Charleston, SC

Famous quotes containing the words high school, high, school and/or career:

The way to go to the circus, however, is with someone who has seen perhaps one theatrical performance before in his life and that in the High School hall.... The scales of sophistication are struck from your eyes and you see in the circus a gathering of men and women who are able to do things as a matter of course which you couldn’t do if your life depended on it.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)

But let my due feet never fail
To walk the studious cloister’s pale,
And love the high embowed roof,
    With antic pillars massy proof,
    And storied windows richly dight,
    Casting a dim, religious light.
    John Milton (1608–1674)

    Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow,
And every where that Mary went
    The lamb was sure to go;
He followed her to school one day—
    That was against the rule,
It made the children laugh and play,
To see a lamb at school.
    Sarah Josepha Buell Hale (1788–1879)

What exacerbates the strain in the working class is the absence of money to pay for services they need, economic insecurity, poor daycare, and lack of dignity and boredom in each partner’s job. What exacerbates it in upper-middle class is the instability of paid help and the enormous demands of the career system in which both partners become willing believers. But the tug between traditional and egalitarian models of marriage runs from top to bottom of the class ladder.
    Arlie Hochschild (20th century)
