UPBTE is divided into four zones, namely:

  1. West Zone, head-quartered at Meerut
  2. Central Zone, head-quartered at Lucknow
  3. East Zone, head-quartered at Varanasi
  4. Bundelkhand Zone, head-quartered at Jhansi

Each zone having three type of institutions:

  1. Government institutions
  2. Aided institutions
  3. Private institutions
