Fate

Harry E. Yarnell was decommissioned 20 October 1993, and stricken 29 October 1993. She was sold 14 April 1995 for scrapping at Quonset Point, RI, but the scrap contract was terminated 1 December 1996 (scrapping 10% complete), and the hulk returned to Philadelphia for storage. Scrapping was ultimately completed in April 2002.

Famous quotes containing the word fate:

    ... fate is not an eagle, it creeps like a rat.
    Elizabeth Bowen (1899–1973)

    I have, as when the sun doth light a storm,
    Buried this sigh in wrinkle of a smile;
    But sorrow that is couched in seeming gladness
    Is like that mirth fate turns to sudden sadness.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    In the small circle of pain within the skull
    You still shall tramp and tread one endless round
    Of thought, to justify your action to yourselves,
    Weaving a fiction which unravels as you weave,
    Pacing forever in the hell of make-believe
    Which never is belief: this is your fate on earth
    And we must think no further of you.
