Famous quotes containing the words medical, services, business and/or development:
“As we speak of poetical beauty, so ought we to speak of mathematical beauty and medical beauty. But we do not do so; and that reason is that we know well what is the object of mathematics, and that it consists in proofs, and what is the object of medicine, and that it consists in healing. But we do not know in what grace consists, which is the object of poetry.”
—Blaise Pascal (16231662)
“True love ennobles and dignifies the material labors of life; and homely services rendered for loves sake have in them a poetry that is immortal.”
—Harriet Beecher Stowe (18111896)
“What if all the forces of society were bent upon developing [poor] children? What if societys business were making people instead of profits? How much of their creative beauty of spirit would remain unquenched through the years? How much of this responsiveness would follow them through life?”
—Mary Heaton Vorse (18741966)
“America is a country that seems forever to be toddler or teenager, at those two stages of human development characterized by conflict between autonomy and security.”
—Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
