Tweak Programming Environment

Tweak, authored by German computer scientist Andreas Raab, is a graphical user interface (GUI) layer for the Squeak development environment, which in turn is an integrated development environment based on the Smalltalk-80 computer programming language. Tweak is an alternative to an earlier graphic user interface layer called Morphic. Development began in 2001.

Applications that use the Tweak software include Sophie (version 1), a multimedia and e-book authoring system, and a family of virtual world systems: Open Cobalt, Teleplace, OpenQwaq, 3d ICC's Immersive Terf and the Croquet Project. An experimental version of Etoys, a programming environment for children, used Tweak instead of Morphic.

Famous quotes containing the words tweak, programming and/or environment:

I have a toothache today. I never seem to be able to rise above a toothache. It makes me want to howl, break things, pull noses, tweak ears, screech.
    John Colton (1886–1946)

If there is a price to pay for the privilege of spending the early years of child rearing in the driver’s seat, it is our reluctance, our inability, to tolerate being demoted to the backseat. Spurred by our success in programming our children during the preschool years, we may find it difficult to forgo in later states the level of control that once afforded us so much satisfaction.
    Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)

White males are the most responsible for the destruction of human life and environment on the planet today.
    Robin Morgan (b. 1941)
