Transit Cape Breton

Transit Cape Breton is a public transport agency operating buses in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM), in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Owned by the CBRM, Transit Cape Breton's operations area is the urban core in the eastern part of the municipality, namely Industrial Cape Breton, which includes the communities of Sydney, Glace Bay, North Sydney, Sydney Mines, Reserve Mines, and New Waterford.

Transit Cape Breton also operates "Handi-Trans" for passengers whose disabilities restrict them from using regular bus service. As of October 2009, Transit Cape Breton has also put 8 wheelchair-accessible buses into service which travel the regular routes. Their main feature is a no-stairway entry system with wider aisles.

Transit Cape Breton does not operate on Sundays or public holidays.

Famous quotes containing the words transit, cape and/or breton:

We only seem to learn from Life that Life doesn’t matter so much as it seemed to do—it’s not so burningly important, after all, what happens. We crawl, like blinking sea-creatures, out of the Ocean onto a spur of rock, we creep over the promontory bewildered and dazzled and hurting ourselves, then we drop in the ocean on the other side: and the little transit doesn’t matter so much.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

The allurement that women hold out to men is precisely the allurement that Cape Hatteras holds out to sailors: they are enormously dangerous and hence enormously fascinating. To the average man, doomed to some banal drudgery all his life long, they offer the only grand hazard that he ever encounters. Take them away, and his existence would be as flat and secure as that of a moo-cow.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)

In the world we live in ... everything militates in favor of things that have not yet happened, of things that will never happen again.
    —AndrĂ© Breton (1896–1966)
