Route
TAP is considered to be the shortest route in the Southern Gas Corridor, linking Europe to new sources of gas in the Caspian and Middle East regions. The pipeline will start in Greece near Komotini, cross Albania and the Adriatic Sea and come ashore in Italy near San Foca. The total length of the pipeline will be 791 kilometres (492 mi), of which 478 kilometres (297 mi) in Greece, 204 kilometres (127 mi) in Albania, 105 kilometres (65 mi) in offshore, and 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) in Italy. The offshore leg will be laid at a maximum depth of 820 metres (2,690 ft).
