Top 40 Tracks

Top 40 Tracks is a defunct chart from Billboard magazine, which debuted in the issue dated December 5, 1998, when Billboard changed the airplay profile of the pop-heavy Hot 100 Airplay chart to incorporate more R&B, country, and rock stations to its radio panel. To preserve the notion of the former chart, Top 40 Tracks was introduced. The Top 40 Tracks was compiled by measuring audience impressions (based on a station's ratings and when a song is played) from Mainstream Top 40, Rhythmic Top 40, and Adult Top 40 radio stations.

The Top 40 Tracks chart was replaced in March 2005 with the introduction of the Pop 100 Airplay chart.

Famous quotes containing the words top and/or tracks:

All of the valuable qualities ... like helping in the development of others—will not get you to the top at General Motors, were that path open to women.... The characteristics most highly developed in women and perhaps most essential to human beings are the very characteristics that are specifically dysfunctional for success in the world as it is.... They may, however, be the important ones for making the world different.
    Jean Baker Miller (20th century)

The tracks of moose, more or less recent, to speak literally, covered every square rod on the sides of the mountain; and these animals are probably more numerous there now than ever before, being driven into this wilderness, from all sides, by the settlements.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
