History
Toni & Guy is a global hairdressing and training business founded in London, United Kingdom in 1963 by brothers Giuseppe (Toni) and Gaetano (Guy) Mascolo. They were later joined by younger brothers Bruno and Anthony Mascolo. There are more than 400 salons in the organization and it has won over 50 British Hairdressing Awards including Best British Artistic Team a record eleven times, British Hairdresser of the Year three times, and Newcomer of the Year seven times. Toni Mascolo's daughter Sacha was elected Newcomer of the Year at 19 years of age, the youngest person even to win this award, and went on to win London Hairdresser of the Year 1999 as well as being nominated twice for British Hairdresser of the Year. Sacha is Global Creative Director and her husband James Tarbuck is Global Brand Director.
Toni & Guy has its own client magazine and in-salon television station ‘TONI&GUY.TV’ the brainchild of James Tarbuck, as well as salons and academies around the world in the UK, Ireland, France, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Kazahstan, Malta, Cyprus, Greece, Thailand, Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, Belarus, Belgium, China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Australia, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, lahore New Zealand, Iran, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and Vietnam. The TONI&GUY salons in the USA are headed up by Toni's younger brother Bruno Mascolo. It also manufactures many products in the UK and United States including professional haircare line Label.M,including electrical items which was one of HEMYCA official sponsor for the AW13 Season at London Fashion Week. It has a sister salon group Essensuals Hairdressing, under Toni's eldest son Christian Mascolo and more recently essensuals London salons in North America, the first one opened in Los Angeles in 2010 with Vancouver and Texas following shortly after.
Tony & Guy has won up to 45 British Hairdressing regional and UK awards including the 'Best Artistic Team' with a record of eleven times and British Hairdresser of the year three times. In 1988,1990 and 1995, Anthony Mascolo was also awarded the "Best British Hairdresser", previously winning the "Avant Garde" title.
