    • On February 8, Blink-182 announced at this year's Grammys that they would reunite for a tour and new album.
    • On February 26, the two surviving members of Sublime announced their reunion with new singer and guitarist Rome, who replaces the late Bradley Nowell. Due to legal issues, they later changed their name to Sublime with Rome.
    • On April 23, longtime Social Distortion drummer Charlie Quintana announced his departure from the band. He's replaced by former Offspring and current Angels & Airwaves drummer Adam "Atom" Willard.
    • On August 21, longtime Pennywise singer Jim Lindberg announced his departure from the band.
    • Nirvana's last performance in the UK is released on DVD and CD Live at Reading
