    • On January 3, drummer Adam Pfahler announces that Jawbreaker had recently got back together.
    • On January 4, the reunited 22 Jacks performed their first concert since breaking up in 2001.
    • On January 29, Face to Face announce on their website that they would reunite for a tour.
    • On April 21, it was reported that Dynamite Boy would reunite for a couple shows.
    • On August 13, the reunited Big Drill Car perform together for the first time in thirteen years at Fitzgerald's Pub in Huntington Beach, California.
    • On August 21, legendary producer and engineer Jerry Finn (known for work on albums by blink-182, AFI, Rancid, Pennywise, Alkaline Trio, The Offspring, MxPx, +44, Sum 41, and Morrissey) died of brain hemorrhage after a week of being taken off of life support. He was 39 years old.
    • From October 4 to December 13, The Offspring's "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid", a song off their new album, stays #1 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart for 11 weeks, becoming the band's biggest hit to date.
    • On October 31, former Descendents guitarest Frank Navetta died after a short bout of illness.
    • X-Ray Spex get back together for a one-off gig at the Legendary Roundhouse.
    • Dead Kennedys get back together for a tour around the US in early June with new singer.
    • The Sonics do a series of reunion shows at The Garage, Islington, London.
    • On October 15, Teenage Head's Frankie Venom died after a battle with throat cancer.
    • Blink-182 drummer, Travis Barker, nearly dies in a plane crash which leads to the band talking again.
