- R.K.L. singer Jason Sears died on January 31 due to complications while undergoing a detox treatment involving ibogaine in Tijuana, Mexico. He died only eight days after his 38th birthday.
- Glue Gun reunites and their singer Bob Oedy would become the remaining original member of the band.
