    • Social Distortion guitarist Dennis Danell dies of brain aneurysm at the age of 38. The band considers disbanding, but decides to continue with new guitarist Jonny Wickersham.
    • Jughead's Revenge files lawsuit with Archie Comics, leaving the band to change their name to Jugg's Revenge. This, however, resulted in their breakup, which took place next year.
