Tiger Weekly

Tiger Weekly was an independently owned student alt-weekly newspaper published by 614 Media Group and distributed on the campus of Louisiana State University and around the Baton Rouge, LA community. The publication was founded in 1997 by then undergraduate student Wayne Lewis who set out to create his own student newspaper.

Tiger Weekly publishes approximately 39 issues per year, in line with the LSU academic calendar. The publication has a weekly circulation of 23,000 and is distributed on Wednesdays.

The content of Tiger Weekly is a mix of community and campus news, local sports and entertainment, in which the majority is produced by students of Louisiana State University. The daily operations of the paper, such as sales and graphic design, are handled by a full-time staff.

Tiger Weekly changed its name to DIG Magazine in 2011. It is now focused on the city of Baton Rouge, rather than only LSU.

Famous quotes containing the words tiger and/or weekly:

    The tiger in the tiger-pit
Is not more irritable than I.
The whipping tail is not more still
Than when I smell the enemy
    Writhing in the essential blood
Or dangling from the friendly tree.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

Vanity—has brought more virtues to an untimely end than any other vice.
