White Knight Two
White Knight Two (WK2) is a jet-powered twin-boom cargo aircraft which serves as SS2's mothership, carrying the spaceplane to launch altitude before releasing it to begin its suborbital flights. WK2 is the successor to the White Knight, SpaceShipOne's carrier aircraft. WK2 first flew in December 2008, and is capable of several additional roles, including conventional heavy lifting and G-force astronaut training.
