Three Rivers District - Transport

Transport

Train services in the district are provided by Chiltern Railways (CR), London Midland, London Overground and the Metropolitan Line of the London Underground (LU).

London Underground stations:

  • Chorleywood served by CR and LU
  • Croxley LU only
  • Moor Park LU only
  • Rickmansworth CR and LU

The track and stations are owned by London Underground.

A special fare structure exists as the stations are outside the Greater London boundary although much of the district is within the north westerly bounds of the M25 motorway and the London commuter belt.

If the proposed Croxley Rail Link goes ahead, it would run through the district, providing two new Underground stations between Croxley and Watford Junction.

London Overground stations:

  • Carpenders Park (London - Watford line)

London Midland stations:

  • Kings Langley (Euston - Northampton line)

Chiltern Railways stations:

  • Chorleywood
  • Rickmansworth

Famous quotes containing the word transport:

One may disavow and disclaim vices that surprise us, and whereto our passions transport us; but those which by long habits are rooted in a strong and ... powerful will are not subject to contradiction. Repentance is but a denying of our will, and an opposition of our fantasies.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)
