The Thompson Sisters - Career

Career

In 2003, the sisters appeared on the reality talent show American Juniors to join a pop group of the same name. When the group broke up in 2004, Taylor and Tori started focusing on their own careers.

In 2004, Tori and Taylor helped tsunami victims by raising money for UNICEF by auctioning off their homemade scarves. Most recently, the two held another auction to help Hurricane Katrina victims by auctioning off autographed American Juniors memorabilia.

In 2006, Tori Thompson auditioned for and got a part in a segment for Comedy Central's Blue Collar TV with Jeff Foxworthy and auditioned for the movie remake of When A Stranger Calls, alongside American Idol (season 3) runner-up, Diana DeGarmo, who was auditioning for a different part.

In 2011, they took part in The Voice after qualifying in the Blind Auditions they advanced to The Battle Round where they beat Kelsey Rey to move on to the Live Shows. They were coached in the series by Cee Lo Green.

On the results episode on June 21, 2011, they were eliminated from the competition after Vicci Martinez received the most votes from America and coach Cee Lo Green selected Nakia as the other semi-finalist.

Famous quotes containing the word career:

I seemed intent on making it as difficult for myself as possible to pursue my “male” career goal. I not only procrastinated endlessly, submitting my medical school application at the very last minute, but continued to crave a conventional female role even as I moved ahead with my “male” pursuits.
    Margaret S. Mahler (1897–1985)

Like the old soldier of the ballad, I now close my military career and just fade away, an old soldier who tried to do his duty as God gave him the light to see that duty. Goodbye.
    Douglas MacArthur (1880–1964)

In time your relatives will come to accept the idea that a career is as important to you as your family. Of course, in time the polar ice cap will melt.
    Barbara Dale (b. 1940)
