The Savage Dragon: Sex & Violence

The Savage Dragon: Sex & Violence

The Savage Dragon: Sex & Violence was a two-issue limited comic book series starring the Savage Dragon, created by Erik Larsen. It ran from August to September 1997. Chronologically, the story occurs approximately between issues 21 and 22 of the regular Savage Dragon series.

The mini-series was originally conceived as a Savage Dragon annual, with art by Adam Hughes, but it was split into a mini-series.

A recreation of the mini-series' opening scene was written and drawn by Larsen and included in issue #132 of the ongoing Savage Dragon series as well as the Savage Dragon Archives Vol. 2 trade paperback.

Famous quotes containing the words savage and/or violence:

Murderous desire, hatred, distrust are nowadays the accompanying signs of physical illness: so thoroughly have we embodied our moral prejudices.—Perhaps cowardice and pity appear as symptoms of illness in savage ages. Perhaps even virtues might be symptoms.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)

He thought of certain human hearts, their climb
    Through violence into exquisite disciplines
Of which, as it now appeared, they all expired.
    James Merrill (b. 1926)
